After Life
I am currently using a Sinar 5x4 view camera that lends itself to slow, contemplative work and produces extreme detail and clarity of image. My still life subjects become animated and familiar to me through this process.
Fascinated by the stages of transformation that take place between life and death and decay, I seek to twist familiarity with my work, using photography to challenge and subvert the subjects and objects we take for granted.
When people see my work I would like them to be made aware of our effect on our fragile environment and to connect with the beauty and danger inherent in processes of decay.
Nothing truly dies - it is only transformed.
